Pay Scale: Rs.10300-34800/- with Grade Pay of Rs. 3200/-

Educational Qualification: Candidates should have the minimum Educational Qualification 10+2 or its equivalent from a recognized Education Board/ University. They must have passed Matriculation Examination with Punjabi as one of the compulsory subjects or any other equivalent examination in the Punjabi language. In a case of Ex-Servicemen, the minimum educational qualifications shall be Matriculation. 

Age Limit: The minimum age of candidates for recruitment at the rank of constable (Driver) should be 18 years and maximum age should be 28 years as on 01-01-2016. Candidates belonging to SC/ ST/ OBC categories would be entitled to a relaxation in the upper age limit to the extent of 5 years and Ex-Servicemen shall be given relaxation in the upper age limit 3 years. 

Physical Standards: The minimum height is required for Male Candidates 5'7" (5 feet 7 inches).

Selection Process: Regional Recruitment Boards shall conduct the recruitment for male candidates at such Recruitment Centers as specified by the Chairman Central Recruitment Board. The board shall conduct the Substance Abuse Test (SAT), Physical Screening Test (PST) and Physical Measurement Test (PMT). The SAT, PST, and PMT of a candidate shall be conducted on a single day. After the qualifying, the above said to test the Board will conduct Written Test of 50 marks. The candidates who qualify the Written Examination, double the number of vacancies advertised will be called for Driving Proficiency Test according to the merit of written examination.

Application Fee: Candidates should have paid application fee according to their categories-

(a) For General category candidates: Rs.600/-

(b) For ST/ SC/ OBC candidates: Rs.200/-

(c) Ex-Servicemen candidates: No Fee (However, the lineal descendants of ex-servicemen will have to pay the application fees, as applicable to their category).
