Which form is for changing Voter ID Card Address:
According to Election Commission of India, Form 08 is for changing particulars of a Voter Id card. Form 08 A is can be filled by a person whose name is already included in the current electoral roll and want to the transposition of an entry in a different place of the same constituency. Form 08 & Form 08 A is available on official website of the ECI.
Who can fill Form 08 A to Change Address of Voter ID Card ?
A person whose name is already included in the current electoral roll can file the Application for transposition of an entry in a different place of the same constituency.
One person cannot file the application in form 08 to change the particular of another person.
Documents required to Change Address of Voter ID Card:
Some of the documents are required for changing the address. In part 2 of the Application form, applicants need to fill up the full and complete postal address including PIN code where you are ordinarily residing and want to register. Proof of address to be attached as given here under.
- Bank / Kisan / Post Office Current Pass Book or
- Applicant's Ration Card / Passport / Driving License / Income Tax Return filed or Assesment order or
- Postal Department's posts received / delivered in the applicant's name at the given address.
Online process of Changing Address of Voter ID Card:
Voters can change their address through online mode from www.nvsp.in/forms. You need to fill the Form 8 A for transposition within Assembly. Form 8 A with also be available for Correction of entries in the Electoral Rolls. Only one copy of the application is to be filed.
- Open www.nvsp.in
- Click "Correction of entries in the electoral roll".
- Now choose "प्रारुप 8क / Form 8 A)
- Select Language (English/Hindi)
- In the first column Select " State" (Bihar).
- Select your Assembly / Parliamentary Constituency.
- Fill correct details of a person whose entry is to be transposed.
- Fill Particulars of the place of present ordinary Residence in details.
- Enter the period of continuous residence address.
- Enter Part Number to which the entry has to be transposed.
- Again provide details of the applicant.
- In the end of Form 8A, you need to enter place and date for declaration.
After verifying the entered details, click "Save" then click "Submit" button then take a print copy of same and affix a passport size photograph on given space. The application should be addressed to the Electoral Registration Officer of the constituency in which transpositions of the relevant entry is required. The name of the constituency should be mentioned in the blank space.
Process to change Voter ID Card address offline :
Applicants can also download Form 8a from Election Commission of India website (eci.nic.in). Dully filled application to be Electoral Registration Officer of the Constituency in which the name of the applicant is already included.
